Immigration & Housing

About Immigration

North America has been a land of immigrants for over 10,000 years. It has been embedded in America’s spirit since inception and is what gave birth to this incredible nation.

While we welcome immigrants into the United States, there is a legal process that needs to be followed to ensure the safety of our citizens, tourists, and residents. There needs to be a thorough process in place that protects our safety while ensuring a successful future for those who arrive here. The promotion of illegal immigration into the United States only fuels drug, human, and sex trafficking.

In addition, undocumented immigrants currently in the country need to become documented. A form of pathway to obtaining a green card and/or citizenship should be provided. This could be done by issuing a special work visa to undocumented immigrants that will allow them to work and pay taxes. After a set number of years in which the individual has proven viability within the economy, they can be granted a pathway to either a green card or citizenship.

Therefore, immigration is an important part of the US economy and culture. I will do whatever I can to make sure they come to this country legally, safely and with humanity. I will also work to make sure those who come here without the benefit of legal protection - including their children – are given a swift and successful path to citizenship.

About Housing

The growing trend of corporations outbidding potential homeowners in our county, state, and country is alarming. Many future homeowners are forced to postpone their homeownership due to competition with high bidding corporations looking to create an investment portfolio in real estate.

This trend spikes rental costs and is forcing a younger generation of people to become permanent renters. Owning a home provides individuals and families to build wealth, especially for those who may not have the option or finances to contribute to a 401k or other methods of retirement. We need to put an end to corporate control over single family home purchases.

Homeownership belongs in the hands of homeowners, NOT corporations.
